It is a blend of metallised polyester and wool, woven into a fine mesh backing, and the variety of yarns provide wonderful texture and interest. It is woven in a grid like pattern with space between the various fibers (so it's not opaque), and the color is jet black. We've photographed it on a white background so that you can see the details of the
