Instituted in 1865. In silver, engraver marked "CANZANI" (Demetrio Canzani) on the obverse, measuring 32 mm in diameter, bruised, edge nicks, contact marks, replacement ribbon, near very fine. Footnote: The Medal for the Italian Independence Wars and Unification was instituted on March 4, 1865 by Royal Decree No. 2174 and awarded to those who took part in war campaigns for the independence of
