Japan, Empire. An Order of the Rising Sun with boutonniere, III Class Newly Listed Italy and PolandInstituted in 1875. Early Meiji Period. Silver neck badge with white enamel and a dark red cabochon centrepiece, inclusive of flower suspension 87. 2 mm (h) x 55. 4 mm (w), on original striped neck ribbon, mint condition. Housed in original case, very fine condition. Footnote: The Order was instituted 4th of October 1875 by Emperor Meiji.
