(1917 issue). Constructed of magnetic iron, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, overlaid by a silvered zink alloy applique consisting of a central monogram of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, topped by a royal crown, and above a plaque bearing a number of 25, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse applique in place, with a barrel hinge
