Constructed of nickel brass, the obverse consisting of a richly detailed oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bowtie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, overlaid by a bronzed eagle in mid flight over a hollow background, above a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, stamped with a makers mark of C.
