Striking the bowls with the felt padded end of this mallet may bring both fundamental and first overtone in equal proportion, however, it's nearly impossible to highlight high pitched overtones of your instrument using the soft end of this mallet. The wooden end of the mallet could be used for rubbing the rim of a bowl to sound the high pitch. While rubbing the bowl you may
