López de Heredia, Viña Tondonia Tinto Reserva, 2013 Christmas The fruit here is sourcedA great and iconic example of old school Rioja, showing some fantastic and bright freshness, with aromas of fresh red berries and complex dried fruit. Alongside a perfume of rose, violet and clove from time in oak. The finish is persistent yet elegant with cedar and leather coming through from time aging in bottle. This would sit beside a hunk of parmesan and do wonderful work. Beside a ribeye steak? Even better.
