The lid is made from a single plank of rosewood suggesting considerable age before larger rosewood trees were felled in the middle of the 19th century

Glazed Painted Teak Indian Book Cabinet - Ca 1910 Stools & Benches The speed that they workThis old colonial Indian book cabinet dates to the beginning of the 20th century. Constructed from teak wood, these were used in Indian government offices across India. Perfect for a storage cabinet or for large books. The cabinet has double doors opening to reveal three teak wood shelves. It has been sympathetically restored in our workshop and has retained its original brass hardware and fabulous distressed paint effect showing years of faded paint
