Finn Juhl's designs were met with great acclaim in America in the 1950s, and in turn he was gradually influenced by aspects of American culture. During the boom years of the 1950s, Finn Juhl was impressed by the decadence of the cocktail parties he would attend there, and in turn, designed the Cocktail Bench as a suitable piece of furniture for such occasions. Designed in 1951, the Cocktail Bench was
