Adapted from an antique painted pine tavern sign for Harts Inn, made between 1813 and 1827. The original sign was painted by William Rice (1777 1847) of Connecticut for Jesse Harts tavern in Berlin, Connecticut. The design features a federal eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, with stars representing the number of states at the time.
