Painted Window Shutter From Bikaner - 19th Century Origin - Indonesia There is a date ofThese beautifully patinaed 19th century Indian window shutters hail from the town of Bikaner in Northern Rajasthan, India. These shutters are solid rosewood, suggesting they would have come from a very wealthy haveli. Painted using natural mineral colours these window shutters would have been used internally in a majestic Indian haveli (merchants house). Much of the paintwork has faded leaving only patches and a beautiful dark rosewood grain beneath
