B432-20 Blues
Stillpoint highlights Madder Lake»s distinctive sound which was mostly due to the combination of Fettes unique (often effects laden) vocals
and left behind many fond memories from their concert appearances
By the time they»d recorded Blown and the live album On The Air they»d developed a powerful combination of free flowing boogie and bluesy hard rock with jazz overtones
ANN PEEBLES - I CAN'T STAND THE RAIN VINYL GREATEST HITS B432-20 BluesIf you are wondering about this LP, then just grab it. Ann, backed by the Hi Records finest (the Hodges brothers, Willie Mitchell, the Memphis Strings) nails it. It's the female version of Al Green (in sound) but the lyrics have a bite. There's not a dull moment, there's no filler. This is Memphis soul at its finest.
