Pair of Late 18th / Early 19th Century Ash & Elm Country Chairs Artwork Provenance/Story: would have been reclaimedA good honest pair of provincial country chairs in ash and elm, likely Lancashire or Yorkshire in origin. Nicely shaped crest rails with distinctive vase form splats, turned front stretchers and solid plank seats with excellent grain and colour throughout. Strong vernacular character with plenty of honest wear and patina from years of use. Decorative without feeling overly refined, and still perfectly usable today. Era: Late 18th to early 19th century
